Bio
Michael C. Mueller, M.D., is originally from Cumberland, Rhode Island. After receiving his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, Dr. Mueller began eight years of post-graduate training. He completed his General Surgery residency at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont and his Cardiothoracic Surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. During both residencies, he was chosen chief resident. Dr. Mueller then completed a fellowship in Heart and Lung Transplantation at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He has practiced with Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons since 1995.Dr. Mueller is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
He specializes in adult cardiothoracic surgery including heart transplantation, surgery for congestive heart failure, and mechanical assist device placement.
Dr. Mueller is an active member in the Texas Medical Association, Travis County Medical Society, Texas Transplant Society, and the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation. He has also composed and published numerous research articles in his specialty.
