Dr. Celina Garza Mankey is originally from South Texas. She just recently joined the University of Texas physicians in September 2010.

She graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and a certificate in Spanish language and culture in 1995. Dr. Mankey then attended Georgetown University School of Medicine. She graduated from the primary care program at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in Boston, Massachusetts in 2002. Dr. Mankey served as Co-Chair of the Internship Selection Committee for the internal medicine program at MGH from 2003-2010 as well as Assistant Director of the MGH Primary Care Program from 2003-2006. She was also an Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at Harvard Medical School (HMS), and Assistant Director of the Office of Recruitment and Multicultural Affairs at HMS for 6 years before heading back home to Texas. She has been named to the Super Doctors 2012 and 2013 Texas Rising Stars list. She is currently the Ambulatory Medical Director for University Medical Center Brackenridge, and is an Associate Professor of Medicine with the UT-Southwestern Austin Internal Medicine Program.

She is enjoying the diversity and warmth of the city of Austin very much. She enjoys spending time with her family, running, and swimming when she is not working.
