Surgical Specialties
Dr. Longoria is board-certified in general surgery. He has a particular interest in advanced laparoscopic procedures, having completed his Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at the University of California-Irvine. While there, he conducted research involving laparoscopic gastrectomy and laparoscopic gastric bypass and also served as course faculty for laparoscopic colectomy workshops. During his fellowship and residency, Dr. Longoria's focus included the endocrine surgery, the laparoscopic surgical treatment of colon cancer, reflux disease, and solid organ cancers, as well as gastric bypass and the Lap-Band procedure to treat morbid obesity.
Education and Professional Associations
After graduating from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Dr. Longoria completed his General Surgery Residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He then embarked on his Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at the University of California-Irvine. He received his B.S. in Biochemistry from Trinity University in San Antonio.
Dr. Longoria is an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, and a member of the Travis County Medical Society.

A native Texan, Dr. Longoria is English-Spanish bilingual and enjoys cycling on Austin's hills.
