Sharon Kay Lockhart, M.D.

Bio

Pediatric hematologist/oncologist Sharon Lockhart, M.D., completed her undergraduate studies in psychology at the University of Houston prior to entering medical school at the University of Texas Medical School, Houston, where she also interned in the Department of Pediatrics. Following a pediatric residency, Dr. Lockhart fellowed in pediatric hematology/ oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center while simultaneously working on her masters of public health in population studies at the University of Texas School of Public Health. After serving on the clinical faculty of the University of Texas Medical School and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for several years, she relocated to Austin. Board certified in pediatric hematology oncology, Dr. Lockhart is presently clinical research director of the Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorder Center at Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas.
