Bio
Dr. Haeusslein is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. He earned his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. After completing both his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, a fellowship in cardiology and then heart failure from the University of California, San Francisco followed. Dr. Haeusslein has extensive clinical trial research experience in the fields of heart failure and mechanical circulatory assist devices and has been published in original articles, abstracts and books.
Dr. Haeusslein currently serves as medical director for the Seton Heart Specialty Care & Transplant Center. His special interests include congestive heart failure, cardiomyopathies, heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support systems including ventricular assist devices (VAD’s), and pulmonary hypertension. He is also interested in heart disease associated with the muscular dystrophies and heart disease associated with liver disease.
