Dr. Arshad Ghauri joined the faculty of the Internal Medicine department of the Austin Medical Education Programs in November 2001. Dr. Ghauri attended the Allama Iqbal Medical College, affiliated with Punjab University in Lahore, Pakistan. He is also a member of the College of Physician and Surgeons of Pakistan. Dr. Ghauri worked in Pakistan as a senior anesthetist dealing with patients undergoing routine and emergency surgery. In 1992 he moved to the UK, where Dr. Ghauri trained in Internal Medicine. He also took care of terminally ill oncological patients in England. In 1998 he moved to Austin, TX, where Dr. Ghauri started his Internal Medicine residency with the Austin Medical Education Programs (formerly Central Texas Medical Foundation) at Brackenridge Hospital, where he graduated in June 2001. Dr. Ghauri will be caring for hospitalized patients and participating in the training of Internal Medicine residents and medical students. Dr. Ghauri is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
