Bio
Dr. Genung earned his M.D. from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1967. He completed his general surgery residency at Dallas Veterans Hospital and his orthopaedic surgery residency at The University of Texas at San Antonio and Bexar County Hospital. He served as Team Physician for the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland from 1969-1971.
Dr. Genung is Board Certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is experienced in all facets of orthopaedic surgery, with special interest in athletic injuries and total joint replacements. He is especially skilled in arthroscopy of the shoulder, knee and ankle and has extensive experience performing surgeries involving total knee and hip replacement.
Dr. Genung is an active member of the Texas Medical Association, Texas Orthopaedic Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and Travis County Medical Society and serves on staff at most local area hospitals. He prefers to perform surgery at Seton Medical Center, Bailey Square Surgery Center, and Texas Orthopedics Surgery Center.
