Bio
W. Drew Fielder, MD, FACS, who joined Texas Surgical Group in 2005, has served as Chief of Surgery at Brackenridge Hospital since 2003. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Austin Medical Education Programs, as well as Seton Northwest Surgical Peer Review and Brackenridge Trauma Peer Review.
Dr. Fielder received his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston in 1991. He completed both his general surgery internship and residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Houston. Dr. Fielder is board certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Fielder is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association and the Travis County Medical Society.
Dr. Fielder and his wife, Tracy have three children - Zachary, Brandon and Mamie. When he’s not spending time with his family, you can find Dr. Fielder getting in a round of golf or enjoying the outdoors.
