Bio
Dr. Dillawn graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. After completing an internship and residency in general surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, he began practice in the Austin area in 1998.
Dr. Dillawn specializes in general and advanced laparoscopic surgery, including gastrointestinal surgery, hernias and cancer surgery. He has performed over 400 bariatric (weight loss) procedures, including gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, adjustable gastric banding and revision operations.
Dr. Dillawn is certified by the American Board of Surgery, and is a fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
Away from the hospital Dr. Dillawn enjoys reading, running, swimming, mountain biking, snow skiing and spending time with his wife and daughter.
