Dr. Coates completed undergraduate and medical school at Texas A&M University. After completing a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Scott & White Clinic/Texas A&M University Health Science Center, she completed a fellowship in urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery at Duke University Medical Center. She returned to Texas in 1997 and has limited her practice to the care of women with pelvic floor problems such as pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence and other bladder problems. Over the years she has participated in teaching other physicians and medical students about urogynecology, spoken at many national and international meetings, done research to better understand pelvic floor problems and published the findings of this research. She provides current surgical and non-surgical options for women suffering from urogynecologic problems.
Dr. Coates is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
