Bio

Dr. Carroll is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and his medical degree from The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Dr. Carroll then went on to complete his Internal Medicine Residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He subsequently completed both a General Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Stanford University Hospitals and Clinics during which time he was chosen as chief cardiology fellow. Dr. Carroll also holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University-John F. Kennedy School of Government. Prior to joining the Seton Heart Institute, Dr. Carroll was actively involved in clinical research and served as co-investigator on several studies involving radial artery cardiac catheterization procedure, transcatheter aortic valve replacement and coronary physiology. This research included being a part of the clinical team that placed the first trancatheter aortic valve within the entire Veteran’s Administration Hospital System.

Dr. Carroll serves as co-director of the Seton heart valve clinic. His areas of special interest include transcatheter treatment of complex valve disease, ASD/PFO closure, transradial cardiac catheterization, fractional flow reserve and causes of atypical chest pain; resistant hypertension and peripheral vascular disease management and interventions.
