Bio
Dr. Adams graduated from William Penn College with a BA in liberal arts. He entered the physical therapy program at the University of Iowa and received a certificate degree. Dr. Adams practiced as a physical therapies for a year in Guttenberg, Iowa before entering medical school at the College of osteopathic medicine and Surgery in Des Moines. Upon graduation from medical school he entered active military duty in the United States Army Medical Corps. Dr. Adams completed his internship at Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco, California in 1981 and entered the orthopedic residency program at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas in 1982.
Dr. Adams is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Adams has a particular interest in sports-related injuries and trauma to the shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle, as well as adult joint reconstruction. He serves on staff at all area hospitals and is a member of the Brackenridge Hospital Trauma Council and is a President of the Austin Orthopedic Trauma Association.
