William G. Robertson, III has been in private practice in Austin since 1990. Dr. Robertson is a fifth generation Texan and a second generation physician. After receiving his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Dr. Robertson completed his internship at the Latter-Day Saints Hospital in Salt Lake City and his general surgery residency at the University of Utah Medical Center. His second residency was with the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California and his fellowship was with the Ferguson Clinic in Michigan. He returned to the Santa Barbara Medical Foundation and remained there from July 1997 until his move to Austin.
Dr. Robertson is certified by the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He was the director of the Colon and Rectal Surgery residency program in California from 1983 through 1990. His special interests are anorectal diseases and inflammatory bowel disease. Outside of medicine he enjoys golf, fishing, hunting and UT Basketball.
