Tory Meyer, MD
Austin Pediatric Surgery
Dr. Meyer grew up in Chappaqua, New York and received his bachelor of arts in Biology at Yale University. After taking a year to work and travel, he attended Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York and received his medical degree. Dr. Meyer spent the following 7 years at the University Hospital in Cincinnati where he completed a General Surgery Residency including 2 years of basic science research in the area of intestinal cytokine production during sepsis. He did his Pediatric Surgery Fellowship and an ECMO Fellowship at the Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati. He is board certified in General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery.
Dr. Meyer moved to Austin in 2000 and has been active in multiple hospital committees including the Dell Children's Medical Center planning committees, the Peer Review committee, and the Surgery Council in which he has served as the past Department Chief of Pediatric Surgery and as the present Sub-specialty Chief of Pediatric Surgery. His surgical interests include laparoscopy and thoracoscopy and surgical oncology. He is a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association, the American College of Surgeons, the Texas Medical Association, and the Travis County Medical Society.
