Dr. Longoria received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, and completed his general surgery residency at the University of Missouri at Kansas City, where he was honored as chief resident of the year. He then embarked on his Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at the University of California at Irvine. While there, he conducted clinical research involving laparoscopic gastrectomy and gastric bypass surgery and also served as clinical instructor for laparoscopic colectomy workshops.
Dr. Longoria is board certified in general surgery and has a particular interest in advanced laparoscopic procedures, laparoscopic surgical treatment of colon cancer, reflux disease, solid organ cancers, endocrine surgery, trauma surgery as well as gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy and the Lap-Band procedure to treat morbid obesity.
Dr. Longoria is a native Texan and speaks both English and Spanish. In his spare time, Dr. Longoria enjoys exercising and listening to live music.
