Board certified in Internal Medicine and Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism
Pratima Kumar, MD, obtained her medical school degree from King George’s Medical College, Lucknow, India in 1995. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Central Texas Medical Foundation in 1999, after which she practiced internal medicine in Austin for 9 years.
After completing a fellowship in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2008, she returned to Austin to join UT Southwestern Austin Programs as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine.
She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. She is also a Certified Clinical Densitometrist (CCD) and a certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). She is an active member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, Endocrine Society and Travis County Medical Society.
Dr. Kumar enjoys traveling and spending time with her family when she is away from work.
