Dr. Valerie Jurgens is a board certified pediatrician with Dell Children’s Medical Center, Pediatric Consultation and Referral Service. She received her medical degree at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and a Master of Public Health Degree at The George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services. Dr. Jurgens completed a residency in pediatrics at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, and a fellowship in pediatric hospital medicine at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
While at George Washington University, Dr. Jurgens held teaching roles including a supervisory role in the conduct of daily work and family-centered rounds including medical student and resident education, facilitating simulation sessions for residents, new interns, and medical students, and facilitating monthly resident board review sessions. In addition, Dr. Jurgens participates in training and holds a special interest in global health issues of children.
