Dr. Hong is board certified in clinical cardiac electrophysiology, cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Universidad La Salle in Mexico City. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He went on to complete his fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio and at University of Toronto at St Michael’s Hospital. He subsequently joined the faculty at Case Western Reserve University and became the Program Director of the Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship at University Hospitals Case Medical Center and at the VAMC in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr Hong actively participates in clinical trials, research and academic presentations. He is a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society and he serves as the acting cardiac electrophysiologist for CardioStart, an organization that provides cardiac care in underdeveloped countries around the world.
