Kanaka Durga Govindaraju, MD
Dr. Govindaraju is board certified in family medicine and practices at Seton Family of Doctors in Hays County. She received her medical degree from Guntur Medical College in Guntur, India, where she also completed a rotating internship at Government General Hospital. She then held the position of Senior House Officer in the surgery department at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. After arriving in the United States, Dr. Govindaraju practiced a year of transitional medicine at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. Her family practice residency was completed through Wayne State University at Detroit Medical Center.
Dr. Govindaraju is the medical director at Marbridge, a rehabilitation facility in Manchaca for adults with cognitive challenges. She is also an associate medical director at VistaCare Hospice in San Marcos, and she has provided care at Hospice Austin since 2009. In addition, she cares for patients at several nursing homes in south Central Texas.
Dr. Govindaraju has collaborated in several research studies and publications, and she is a certified instructor for the American Heart Association. She has special interest in women’s health care issues, diabetes and internal medicine.
