Seton Did Not Purchase Contaminated Steroids

Meningitis Cases Associated with Spinal Injections

AUSTIN, Texas – (Oct. 5, 2012) – Due to contaminated lots of epidural steroid, a cluster of meningitis cases occurred in other parts of the country within one month of patients receiving injections.

Seton Healthcare Family would like to assure the Central Texas community that we never purchased this product and that patients treated in our hospitals and clinics are safe.

We are in communication with our affiliated physicians who may have purchased this drug elsewhere to ensure their practices are aware of the recalled lots of methylprednisolone acetate. Seton remains alert for complications associated with spinal injection treatments.
