Tim LaFrey is senior vice president of Seton Ventures and Alliances for the Seton Healthcare Family. His responsibilities include evaluation and development of joint venture opportunities, strategic contractual alliances and oversight of the physician management services operations. Tim is Chairman of the board of directors of the Seton Health Plan.

Tim served on the Seton Board of Trustees for more than five years prior to joining the organization. During his tenure on the board, he chaired the Joint Ventures Committee, Finance Committee and Audit Committee.

Prior to joining Seton, Tim served as president and was a member of the Board of Directors of American Physicians Service Group Inc., a publicly traded insurance and financial services company. During his tenure, the company was recognized by Forbes and Fortune magazines as one of the country’s fastest-growing public companies. Before that he practiced law for 21 years, the last 10 of which were with the international law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer and Feld, where he served as partner in charge of the Austin office and chaired the firm’s health care mergers and acquisitions practice. Tim is also a certified public accountant and spent the first six years of his professional career in the audit practice of KPMG Peat Marwick.

Tim received his BBA in Accounting from Texas A&I University and his law degree from The University of Texas School of Law. He has served in leadership positions in numerous civic, charitable and professional organizations.
