AUSTIN, Texas - (May 27, 2014) - Seton Healthcare Family, the leading provider of health care services in Central Texas, is lifting up its 400-year ministry with the launch of the Humancare communications platform.
U.S. health care is undergoing a tumultuous transformation, raising the anxiety of caregivers and patients alike.
With so much of the health care transformation emphasizing the mechanical aspects of delivering care, Seton is focusing on treating all people with dignity and respect while continuing to provide the best care possible.
Standing on this core belief, Seton is elevating the health care conversation in Central Texas from healthcare to Humancare.
"Excessive focus on fixing the 'system' is pushing health care further and further away from what it was meant to be-a caring, human connection," said Mike Dollen, Seton vice president of marketing communications. "We're inspired by the idea that at Seton, patients are more than patients, they're humans and so are we."
As part of the new platform, a multiphased Humancare marketing campaign will roll out across Austin. Created by GSD&M, the campaign consists of digital, out-of-home, experiential and broadcast marketing elements. A story about this effort was posted today on the Austin American-Statesman's website.
Earlier in May, two sequential unbranded billboards kicked off the campaign and created a visual statement that a change is needed in the way that health care providers deliver care. Today, a branded billboard introduces Seton's concept of Humancare.
Also launching today is Seton's new web portal, SetonHumancare.org-a destination where users can give, get or learn more about the Humancare philosophy. Users will be able to find volunteer opportunities within the Seton network, search services offered or send a get-well e-card. SetonHumancare.org is a community of people looking out for each other and providing help where they can.
On June 4, Seton will unveil a 10-foot long by three-foot wide cast sculpture at KGSR's Blues on the Green. The cast will make additional appearances at other big events across Central Texas, including at Austin's Circuit of the Americas, home to major car and motorcycle races, concerts and the X Games. Event attendees will be invited to take pictures with and sign the cast as a way of giving a thumbs-up for Humancare.
"Seton is acting upon its purpose of improving the overall well-being of Central Texans and is dedicated to doing the right thing-regardless of the politics," said Duff Stewart, CEO of GSD&M. "When a health care provider focuses on holistic healing and a personal touch, only good can come of that."
Campaign elements are scheduled to run throughout 2014.
