AUSTIN, Texas - (Nov. 14, 2012) - For the 17th straight year, Seton Medical Center Austin has been named a Consumer Choice Award winner by National Research Corporation for its high-rated care and patient experience. Seton Austin has been the only hospital in the region recognized with the distinction since it was first honored in 1996.
The 17th annual award recognizes exemplary
performance using data from 250,000 households surveyed
nationwide. National Research analyzes the
consumer-reported data, which names 3,200 U.S. hospitals
and then ranks the highest-performing institutions in
markets defined by the U.S. Census Bureau.
"It is an honor to be recognized year after year by our community for the care and service they receive at our hospital," said Greg Hartman, president and CEO, Seton Medical Center Austin. "Patients are becoming more empowered to make health care decisions for themselves and their families and we are committed to providing them the exceptional care they deserve, adding new technology and medical innovation."
Seton Austin is investing more than $48 million to enhance its cardiovascular, cancer and intensive care programs. Projects include the establishment of two unique oncology centers, the Cancer Care Collaborative and the Breast Care Center to open January 2013 and June 2013, respectively, as well as an additional 60 beds for the cardiac, intensive care and intermediate care units.
