News Seton Highland Lakes Welcomes Two Full-Time Surgeons to Seton Highland Lakes Specialty Clinic in Burnet

BURNET, Texas - (August 23, 2010) - Officials with Seton Highland Lakes Hospital (SHL), a member of the Seton Family of Hospitals, are pleased to announce the addition of two new surgeons. Tammy Sartor, MD, and Stephen D. Scoggin, MD, FACS, are full-time surgeons with the Seton Family of Physicians at SHL. They are seeing patients at the Seton Highland Lakes Specialty Clinic in Burnet.

Dr. Sartor graduated from Texas A&M University with a BS in Radiation Protection Engineering and MS in Nuclear Engineering. She earned her medical degree at Texas A&M College of Medicine and completed her residency at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland.

In addition to general surgery, Dr. Sartor performs advanced breast surgery including stereotactic and ultrasound guided biopsies and Mammasite placement.

Dr. Scoggin received his BA from The University of Texas at Austin and his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Medical School. He spent a year in oncology research, completing the Julian Rickles Fellowship in Surgical Oncology. He also completed a Predoctoral Fellowship at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Scoggin is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a fellow of the Texas Surgical Society.

In addition to general surgery, Dr. Scoggin performs endoscopy procedures and is available for diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower endoscopy.
