KYLE, TX - (Jan. 2, 2009) - Seton Medical Center Hays (SMCH), a member of the Seton Family of Hospitals, welcomes its first baby of the New Year.
Araceli Jacobo gave birth to her son, Andy, on New Year's Day at 7:56 p.m. He weighed in at 6 pounds, 10 ounces and was 21 inches long. He is the first child for the Jacobo family.
"Holding my son on the first day of the year was an
incredible experience. Our family is thrilled to welcome Andy
into the world," said Jacobo.
On behalf of SMCH, Summer Moore, RNC, and Kristen Cherry, RN,
gave the family a gift basket in honor of this special occasion
full of bathing accessories and toys for the new
infant.
Andy was delivered by Jennifer Goss, M.D., obstetrician with Seton Family of Doctors at Hays. She expressed, "Prior to SMCH's opening, 60 percent of Hays residents went outside the county for health care. We've been busy serving the people of this county since our opening on October 1, and I am excited to be part of the first of many deliveries at SMCH in 2010."
The Women's Center at SMCH provides a broad range of services including labor and delivery, C-section, postpartum care, transitional nursery care, Level II neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and minimally invasive gynecological surgery.
